The Sokol Hall in Husovice is an architecturally striking historic building on Dukelská třída, featuring a richly decorated Art Nouveau façade. It was built as a community and sports centre for the local Sokol organisation.
Sokolovna Husovice serves as a meeting place for the Sokol Husovice unit, offering sports activities, classes and events for all age groups. The complex includes a gymnasium and outdoor sports facilities such as tennis courts.
The local Sokol organisation has been active since the late 19th century and has long played an important role in community life in Husovice. The current Sokol Hall was built in 1905, designed by architect Karel Hugo Kepka, who was known for his monumental Art Nouveau and historicising style. The building stands out thanks to its decorative façade, including large arched windows of the main hall and ornamental stucco medallions.
Over the years, the hall has not only served for exercise and sport but has also hosted various cultural and social events, including cinema screenings in the early 20th century.
Today, Sokol Husovice continues to follow the tradition of promoting physical activity and community life. Despite temporary limitations due to nearby construction works, the organisation remains active and offers a wide range of sports programmes for its members.
