Ponávka is situated on the site of the former Brno Starch Factory, between Dornych, Škrobárenská, and Masná streets, directly connecting to the former municipal abattoir buildings and the Functionalist Meat Exchange.
The business park is owned by CTP, which has been gradually revitalizing the site and adding new buildings based on designs by the architectural studio Studio acht. In addition to office buildings, this multifunctional complex includes CTBoxes, which consist of offices, showrooms, and storage or production spaces, as well as the residential buildings Domeq I, II, and III, focusing on life in a dynamic social community within the business park.
In the centre of the area is a relaxation zone, featuring a leisure space, an outdoor sports field with a fire pit for grilling, and a freely accessible green area designed by landscape architect Lodewijk Baljon. These spaces are offered not only to CTP's clients but also to the general public. Around 2,000 people work at Ponávka. The architecture of the area represents a combination of modern and renovated historical buildings adapted to the current needs of clients.
The latest project in the area is Building A4, currently under construction, which will offer new office spaces, retail, and studios. The building is expected to be completed by 2025. During the Open House Brno festival, participants will be able to visit the outdoor areas of Ponávka and learn more about its history and architecture through an audio guide.
