The building of the International Clinical Research Centre at St Anne’s University Hospital in Brno (FNUSA-ICRC) was completed in 2011 with financial support from the European Union.
This modern complex comprises state-of-the-art hospital departments and laboratories equipped with cutting-edge technology, primarily for the treatment of heart and brain diseases, but also for the needs of FNUSA-ICRC research teams. The centre began operations in the autumn of 2012 and has since employed approximately 200 leading international scientific experts.
Over its twelve years of existence, the centre has produced numerous scientific publications, six patents, several utility models, and innovative treatment methods. The technical design reflects modern trends in multistorey hospitals, with an emergency department on the ground floor and progressively higher floors dedicated to elective care, research, and administration. The sixth floor houses research offices, administrative facilities, terraces, and conference rooms, which are generally inaccessible to the public but open during the festival.
