The permanent seat of the Czech Bartenders Association is located on Šimáčkova Street in Líšeň, where, after extensive preparations and several years of renovation, the organisation opened its centre called Abzac.
The building was originally a bowling alley and cultural hall from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It includes a large hall with galleries, vaulted cellars and several unexpected architectural features. After the war it was used as storage and fell into disrepair. From 2014 onwards it was renovated according to a design by architect Jakub Mach, who restored the galleries using exposed beams with a decorative role and introduced modern lighting solutions. The innovative use of LED technology earned professional recognition and helps the owners significantly reduce running costs.
Abzac is a unique concept combining multi-purpose spaces with beverage gastronomy. The rooms are equipped with sound technology by L-Acoustics, one of the leading audio companies. All spaces also feature screens for live presentations and promotional content. The centre includes structured cabling for cameras and connections to a broadcast control room.
The venue is used for cultural events, training and competitions, not only for bartenders. The Abzac centre mainly serves educational purposes for hospitality professionals and students, but the space is also suitable for bartending competitions as well as a variety of corporate, cultural and social events.
