Biskupské gymnázium, known as BiGy, is a Catholic secondary school with an attached kindergarten, established by the Diocese of Brno. The building was constructed in the late 1930s atop Žlutý kopec (Yellow Hill) in the newly developing Masaryk district, designed by architect Oskar Poříska with interiors by Jan Chomutovský. Funding for the school came entirely from collections across the Brno diocese.

During World War II, the building was occupied by the Nazi administration, hosting a technical academy for the SS and a branch of the Auschwitz concentration camp. After the war, construction was completed, but in 1950 the school was forcibly closed under the communist regime; priests were interned, and teachers and students relocated. The building was first handed over to the army and then, in 1956, to the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology. In 1990, the gymnasium resumed its original educational purpose.

The reinforced concrete building is laid out in the shape of a Latin cross, with three- to four-storey wings covered by low hipped roofs. The longest wing faces northwest and originally housed the boarding section, with naturally lit corridors. On the opposite side, a chapel projects toward the city—today serving as a spacious aula—topped by a tower structured with concrete frames. The school contains 42 classrooms, including 19 general-purpose rooms and specialized facilities, as well as an adoration chapel, study rooms, multi-purpose hall, auditorium, gymnasium, fitness room, outdoor athletic track, library with internet access, and a school canteen. A television and radio transmitter is also located on the building.

Today, BiGy educates over 800 students, with more than 3,600 graduates since its reopening, and employs around 80 teachers. Since 2015, a kindergarten has been integrated into the school. From its elevated location, the building offers sweeping views across Brno, making it a prominent landmark in the city.
