The former Mosilana complex is the last remnant of Brno’s wool textile industry, which played a crucial role in the city’s development in the late 19th century. The site brings together a variety of industrial buildings, reflecting different architectural styles and a strong sense of place.
Originally composed of several independent factories, including administrative, warehouse, and production buildings, the complex was known worldwide for the high quality of its wool products. Its distinctive industrial character is evident in the surviving structures, such as the old steam engine house and the dyeing workshop.
Today, the Mosilana area is being transformed into a new residential quarter while retaining its original “city within a city” atmosphere. Visitors can experience the unique combination of architectural diversity, industrial heritage, and the raw, authentic spirit of Brno’s textile past.
