Deadlines: Please submit your works by May 31, 2026.
Evaluation: Entries will be assessed by a jury composed of the organizing team of the Open House Brno. Works that do not meet the competition requirements will be disqualified. Three works that best capture the theme will be awarded.
Announcement of results: The results of the competition as part of the Open House Brno festival will be announced no later than June 16, 2026.
Prizes: The authors of the three best works will receive material prizes, and their work will be presented as part of the Visual Stories: Open House Brno 2026 exhibition. The winners will also receive a final prize – a trip to a partner festival (Open House Brno – Vienna or Zagreb).
Selected works will also be published in an online publication and on the Open House Brno website. At the end of the year, three exceptional visual stories will be selected, and their authors will be invited either to the opening of the Visual Stories: Open House Brno 2026 exhibition or to a preferred partner festival.
The visual stories of all selected participants will be presented in the exhibition. Three selected authors from Brno will be invited to the opening and will have the opportunity to attend a partner festival abroad.
The main prize from Open House Brno covers part of the travel and accommodation costs.
Visual stories by artists under 18 will also be exhibited and included in the catalogue; however, if they win the trip, they must be accompanied by an adult family member, whose expenses are not covered.
