The Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, de facto the highest judicial authority in the country, was established on 1 January 1993 with its seat in Brno. It is located in the former Moravian Provincial Parliament building, Land House, which originally had its entrance on today's Česká street. The building was designed by the Vienna-based architects Anton Hefft and Robert Raschka. Construction began in 1875 under Josef Arnold, with stonework provided by Adolf Loos Sr. and Johann Tomola. The building was completed in 1878, and a time capsule containing contemporary documents was placed inside. The time capsule was rediscovered during a building survey in November 2014.

The building is one of the most impressive in Brno, inspired by the Northern Italian Renaissance style. Four perimeter wings define four courtyards. The core of the layout is the two-storey chamber hall, featuring galleries typical of a courtroom. An auxiliary corridor runs around the building, with office windows facing the streets. The symmetrical facades correspond to the logical layout, with their monumental scale, harmony, and balance being the result of a thoughtful interplay between horizontal and vertical elements, as well as the proportions of the building itself.

The building underwent a renovation in the second half of the 1980s designed by Vladimír Palla. Since 2014, the building has undergone a major reconstruction, which has now been completed. The renovation has carefully restored its original grandeur and elegance while adapting the space to meet the modern needs of the institution it houses.

During the tour, visitors will visit the Plenary Hall (originally the Chamber of Deputies) and the room where the decisions of the Constitutional Court are made public.
