Ponava Café is a cosy café offering specialty coffee, great beer, a selection of rums, music, and cultural events. It is located in the Lužánky city park, which was once a floodplain forest. After its transformation into a park, a guardhouse and later a house for one of the park attendants was built here.  In the 1930s, the building was referred to as the "morgue," and later, during the Communist era, it was turned into a toilet facility, becoming a gathering spot for some of the most peculiar characters in the area.

In the 1990s, Jiří Dadák rented the building and opened one of the first private pubs in Brno. Today, Ponava Café focuses on hosting musical and cultural events. The building also houses Rádio Ponava.
