The park area in front of the Jan Babák Primary School, which had remained unused since the second half of the 1950s, is soon to be transformed into a modern and multifunctional urban park.

The park was created alongside the surrounding development towards the end of the 1950s. However, over the years, it has not received much care. Today, this abandoned park, with its mature trees and tall grass, will be transformed into a recreational space featuring a playground, flower beds, and an outdoor classroom for the children of the nearby Jana Babák Primary School.

The design of the new solution comes from the hands of professional architects from the architectural studio P. P. Architects. The park layout will be organized around a curved pedestrian pathway connecting Jana Babák Street and the underpass. This central park path will connect to both zones for general use, primarily covered in grass, and to active zones, where the focus will be on play, sports, relaxation, and social functions. An innovative irrigation system will be installed, utilizing rainwater from the school's roof and groundwater via a hydro-well. The park will also feature an educational wall, which will double as a safety barrier to prevent accidents between children and vehicles.

In the eastern part of the park, a children’s play area will be created with play elements like a climbing frame and a balancing bridge. This space will be complemented by a gravel lawn area and a low depression filled with drought-tolerant plants. This area will offer a space for relaxation with sun loungers placed beneath the tree canopies.

Preparatory work for the planned renovation took two years. The actual reconstruction of the park began on March 3rd of this year and is expected to be completed later this year. Ongoing maintenance of the park will be carried out over the next five years.
