The premises of the Kubíček Factory are the pride of a Czech manufacturing company built on a technologically advanced production process, time-tested and refined expertise, continuous innovation, and a high-quality team. Rooted in ballooning, the company has developed products and services with high added value in the sectors of hot air balloons, inflatable products, and ultralight and light sport aircraft.
Kubíček Balloons grew from a small team in the 1980s into a global leader thanks to passion and innovation. Founded by Aleš Kubíček, the company evolved from the creation of the first balloon in Brno into a cutting-edge factory setting standards in aviation. The journey began at the Aviatik Club Brno, where a group of aviation enthusiasts, led by Aleš Kubíček, embarked on an ambitious project: to design and build their first hot air balloon. At that time, private aviation companies were not permitted, so the production of lighter-than-air craft was undertaken under the umbrella of Aerotechnik Kunovice. By 1989, Aleš had designed around 30 hot air balloons under the Aerotechnik brand.
In January 2005, Kubíček Balloons moved to a new, purpose-built factory on the outskirts of Brno. The new facility, situated atop a hill at the end of Jarní street, provides the ideal environment for the company’s operations. The site includes a dedicated launch area for inflating newly manufactured balloons. The factory design allows for smooth and efficient production, with the envelope and artwork departments located on the upper floor, while the basket and burner workshops operate on the ground floor. The front part of the building houses the accounts department, engineers, and the always-busy sales team.
The production process features a dedicated "Basket Workshop," where wicker baskets for hot air balloons are handcrafted, and a sewing workshop, where the balloon envelopes are stitched and assembled. The highlight is the aviation hall, where ultralight aircraft are assembled.
