Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Brno

A modern hotel within the Spielberk complex, the Courtyard by Marriott Brno offers four categories of rooms in a minimalist Scandinavian style with striking views of the city's historical landmarks. 

The construction of the hotel, based on a design by the Acht studio, began in 2005 and was completed after nine years, in 2016, when the hotel was officially opened. The hotel is part of the international Marriott International network. The interior design, from the rooms and bathrooms to the restaurant, was created by the MY DVA holding studio. 

On the ground floor there is a celebrated restaurant, a bar, and breakfast buffet spaces. The first floor is designed as a conference centre, with 10 flexible halls suitable for hosting conferences and social events. The hotel, which offers accommodation in 201 rooms, also includes a fully equipped fitness centre, a three-storey underground car park, and a monumental two-storey entrance lobby with a self-supporting spiral staircase. 

Natural light is brought into the space through large concrete skylights shaped like eccentric volcanoes. Thanks to the natural top light, the quality of materials used, such as travertine, Brazilian granite, oak parquet, and luxurious Belgian wallpaper, is accentuated. The focal point of the entrance hall is a large-format painting created directly on-site, the details of which are further reflected in the décor throughout the hotel.
