CEITEC Brno University of Technology is part of a centre of scientific excellence that brings together top research facilities with specialised equipment for basic and applied research in advanced nanotechnologies and materials.
The foundation of the CEITEC building was laid in 2012 and the complex was completed a few years later. Designed by architect Radoslav Novotný, the building received the South Moravian Region Building of the Year award and is an important part of the university’s research infrastructure.
The complex consists of four interconnected buildings and includes some of the cleanest laboratory spaces in the Czech Republic. The nanostructure analysis laboratory has air far cleaner than normal indoor conditions, and the laboratory for preparing nanostructures is even more strictly controlled and can be entered only in special protective suits. These unique facilities make CEITEC an important place for developing advanced research and future applications of nanotechnology.
